DIRECTIONS

By Car

From the South via the M6 motorway, merge onto the A75 (signposted South West Scotland, Dumfries, Stranraer) - At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the Dumfries ring road. - Follow the A75 over a further 4 roundabouts - at the 5th roundabout take the first left towards Cargenbridge. - At the next junction turn right onto the A711 towards Dalbeattie. On entering Dalbeattie - continue forward onto John Street A711 - Continue forward (signposted Auchencairn, Castle Douglas) - At crossroads turn left onto the A710 (signposted Solway Coast) - Kippford is 3 miles from Dalbeattie. Turn right at the pottery up the hill into Kippford. Continue to the end of the public road at the ARK shop, Roughfirth is the private road which continues along the waterside, continue here and 1 Ford View is the fifth cottage along, parking is in the space to the right directly infront of the cottage.

the North via the A74(M) Leave the A74(M) at junction 15, then at roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A701 (signposted Moffat) Follow the A701 towards Dumfries. - At the Dumfries ring road (A75) take the 3rd exit towards Stranraer. Follow the A75 over a further 2 roundabouts - at the 3rd roundabout take the first left towards Cargenbridge. - At the next junction turn right onto the A711 towards Dalbeattie. - Entering Dalbeattie - Continue forward onto John Street A711 - Continue forward (signposted Auchencairn, Castle Douglas) - At crossroads turn left onto the A710 (signposted Solway Coast) - Kippford is 3 miles from Dalbeattie. Turn right at the pottery up the hill into Kippford. By Train

Trains from the North: Trains leave from Glasgow, Central station to Dumfries directly. Trains leave from Edinburgh to Dumfries via Carlise.

Trains from the South: Take the West coast line to Carlisle and change for connection to Dumfries. Tickets can be cheaper if you buy a ticket to Carlisle then purchase a separate ticket from Carlisle to Dumfries. If leaving from London, trains leave from Euston station.
