Parking Update North Berwick 2026

Please note, the Glebe, Imperial and Lodge car parks will operate free parking from Sunday 25 October 2026 to Sunday 28 March 2027 as the charges are high season only. If you are staying in the Quartermasters House, 8 Victoria Road, and Little Court, we recommend parking here rather than paying for parking as they are free and very close to the houses!

As of the start of June 2026 East Lothian Council introduced Controlled Parking Zones in the town centre of North Berwick. Parking costs 50p per 30 minutes and up to a daily maximum of £5 (excluding RingGo fees). Parking can be paid for on the parking meters around town, or via the RingGo app.

Key Charging Details

Operating Hours: Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Sunday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. (Note: Tantallon Terrace operates slightly longer charging hours from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday–Saturday, and 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sundays).
Please check the signs before parking as some streets have different parking rules than others!

We can provide 1 weekly permit per house. Each permit costs £30 which can be arranged at booking at least a week prior to arrival. We are allocated a limited number of weekly permits per year, therefore it is not guaranteed we will be able to provide one. Pre-payment is required for parking permits.

We are only providing short term let permits for the houses - 8 Victoria Road, Quartermasters House, Little Court and Glen House as our other properties have private parking for 1 car. If you are bringing more than one car in you will have to either pay to park it around town or choose to park it out with the control zones.

Glen House, Tantallon Terrace - There are slightly different rules on Tantallon Terrace, without a valid permit you cannot park over night on Tantallon Terrace (between midnight - 6am). We advise guests staying for less than a week or ones looking to bring additional cars to either park out with the zone or park on Melbourne Road which you can park overnight without a permit on.

Permits for our properties are only valid in the East Zone.

For guests with electric vehicles there are electric charging points at the Glebe car park, the Imperial car park, Tesco and the train station car park.

Please note that parking availability and enforcement are outside of our control, and we are not able to assist with parking arrangements on the day of check-in.

Free parking is still available in North Berwick out with the controlled parking zones.
