GENERAL
This property has everything to keep you amused in all weather conditions: chairs in the garden to relax with a coffee; books; DVDs; board games and jigsaws when you need to tuck under the rug with the shutters shut and the fire going. A couple of steps up from the pavement, through the front door you enter into the hallway, off which there is the bedroom and bathroom to the left and lounge and kitchen to the right. The sitting room/dining room is furnished with two lounge chairs, a sofa and wood burning stove and the private patio can be accessed out the french doors to the back of the room.
There is a wood burning open fire in the sitting room - lovely for taking the chill off a Scottish spring evening after a long day out in the countryside - and a TV. The cottage has been laid-out to be easy to use, sociable, and making the most of its location. It is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, radio, and hopefully all the crockery and utensils you could possibly need for your stay. Adjoining the bedroom is the bathroom, which has a rain shower, a sink and a loo.
WALKS/LOCAL AREA
East Linton is the perfect place to come and explore the best of East Lothians wildlife. Just though the arches in the u-shaped bend of cottages you can get direct access to Phantassie Farm, the Dovecot and the John Muir Way!
A short walk takes you to the village of East Linton where you will find a variety of shops and pubs and an award winning butchers. If you head out in the other direction it will take you to one of Scotlands best bakeries (Bostock Bakery). We also recommend checking out The Mart which has a number of food outlets, a deli/farm shop full of local produce and regular market which hosts many local makers and businesses.
If you're feeling adventurous you can follow the River Tyne along towards Haddington will take you to Hailes Castle which is one of Scotlands oldest stone castles dating back to the 1200s! You can also carry on from here all the way up Traprain Law which has fantastic views out over the whole of East Lothian all the way down to the Bass Rock.
